Dear Bair

  • I love being a Bair family. I wouldn't have my daughters if it weren't for Bair.
    — Debbie Howard, Adoptive Parent
  • I have been through a lot in my life, and often times I felt alone in this world even when I was surrounded by a lot of people. I felt this way because I was a foster kid and had always been told I was worthless. But after a life of hardship and struggle, I'm finally getting what I've always wished for... a family to call my own."
    — Alex, Adoptee
  • We are thrilled to announce that we are expecting a 14 year old girl! We had our own plans as we started this journey, but God had His. God's plans are always best. We have met her and fallen in love with her. We can't wait for her to be a part of our family!!!

Foster-to-Adopt: Adopting from Foster Care

Yes, there is a difference between foster care and foster-to-adopt.

Foster care provides children and teens that have been separated from their parents or guardians - usually because of abuse or neglect - with a temporary home. Sometimes, there is a potential to adopt your foster child. If you are interested in pursuing adoption through foster care, you can have a pre-adoptive status within our foster care agency.

In a foster-to-adopt placement, a child or teen is placed in a home before the child's biological parents' or guardians' rights have been legally terminated. Many times, while a child is in a foster home, they become eligible for adoption. Because of their commitment to the children placed in their home, many of our families make the decision to adopt theses children. Because both the parent and the child have had time to build the relationship and bond, both parties enter the adoption with a better sense of what to expect.

Adoptive Services

Through adoption services, children and teens are able to move toward permanency. An adoptive home study and child profile are completed for foster children already in The Bair Foundation foster care program. Foster parent training is a prerequisite for adopting from the foster care system.  We are called to set the lonely in families, because He first set us in His!
