Part-Time Foster Care And Respite

A helping hand for foster families

Part-time or respite foster care provides essential support to full-time foster families. Through this service, a respite carer temporarily takes in another family’s foster children, giving parents a break from daily stressors and allowing them time to plan activities or meet other obligations.

How respite care works

Bair provides respite care for foster families two days a month, and the days are determined by state regulations. Bair also actively recruits respite foster parents.

In addition to giving full-time foster parents time to re-energize, respite care can help the foster child form additional positive relationships with adults and experience independence in a safe, loving environment.

Respite caregivers must meet the necessary training and certification requirements for their state. Contact us for more information on becoming a respite foster parent.
