8 Scriptures To Pray Over Children As They Go Back To School
For children in foster care, this time can mean more uncertainty.
“For He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” Psalm 91:11
For most kids, back to school time is exciting! New supplies, clothes, and being eager to learn. But for children in foster care, a new school year can mean more uncertainty, heightened stress and anxiety, and feeling out of place.
As our kids go back to school, here are some great scriptures to pray over them each day.
Direct their paths
“Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it.” -Psalm 119:35
“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” –1 Corinthians 16:13
guidance from god’s word
“Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path.” –Psalm 119:105
walk with the wise
“Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” –Proverbs 13:20
safety and protection
“For He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” –Psalm 91:11
“This is my command – be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” -Joshua 1:9
a sense of belonging
“What are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower that God and crowned them with glory and honor.” –Psalm 8:4-5
to know they are loved
“This is real love – not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” –1 John 4:10
